About Us
Welcome to Brookside Elementary!
Brookside is one of the smaller elementary schools in Worthington and has a loving, genuine environment that is felt from the moment one walks through the door. We espouse our district mission: Empowering a Community of Learners Who Will Change the World. We believe in providing diverse opportunities for students academically, co-curricularly, and socially. We foster a safe environment both emotionally and physically.
We strive to provide consistent communication and opportunities for two-way communication between our school and our families. Lastly, we believe in being good stewards by being responsible and transparent with the utilization of community provided finances.
Brookside opened in January of 1965 and is situated on 7.8 beautiful acres just west of the Olentangy River at 6700 McVey Boulevard. Brookside has a pond on site that is generally used for outdoor studies and by the community as a park setting.
The Brookside PTA is a very active and supportive group of parents who work with school staff to enrich the educational experiences for children. In the past our PTA has hosted Family Fun Nights such as: a scavenger hunt, hayride and chili cookoff, a school carnival, and book fairs.
Welcome to our lovely school community!

Portrait of a Learner
At Brookside, we believe in the power of every student to make a positive impact. Our Portrait of a Learner reflects the qualities we nurture in our students:
- Leader: I take action to make things better and model good choices.
- Thinker: I am curious, I listen to understand, I learn from my mistakes, I share my ideas, and I ask questions.
- Friend: I am kind and inclusive, I take care of myself and others, I celebrate the success of others.
Our mission is to empower a community of learners who will change the world.
